Laurel is a Research Consultant with Summa Strategies, supporting government relations, and event management files.
Laurel has a significant event management and planning background, with experience coordinating large-scale events for thousands of people on behalf of the University of Toronto.
Laurel is active in politics, and has held key roles in local campaigns at both the Provincial and Federal levels, in Toronto and Ottawa. During the 2015 Election, Laurel worked on a successful Liberal campaign in Eastern Ontario. She supported the candidate and the campaign manager in campaign strategy development. She also served as the President of a youth riding association for several years.
Prior to joining Summa Strategies, Laurel worked for the Department of Public Safety. As a policy analyst with the National Security Policy Directorate, she acquired experience in national security policy and regulation development. Laurel worked primarily on the implementation of intelligence policy related to counter-terrorism.
She is originally from Ottawa, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in Philosophy from the University of Toronto. Laurel conducts business in both official languages.
